In most any city or town around the world, there are only a handful of people who are DeafBlind. This can lead to a feeling of isolation for the individual and everyone in the family. NFADB offers several ways for you to keep connected and stay informed.
Because deafblindness is a low incidence disability, families of children who are DeafBlind often have difficulty meeting other families who share similar triumphs and challenges. The National Family Association for DeafBlind (NFADB), the National Center on DeafBlindness (NCDB), and State DeafBlind Projects are working together to offer a unique way for families to connect with one another. Parents of children with deafblindness know and understand the needs of families of children with deafblindness more than anyone; therefore, Family Engagement Coordinators and Family Leaders will facilitate this collaborative project.
