About NFADB
The National Family Association for DeafBlind (NFADB) is seeking passionate and committed individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. As the nation’s largest family-led nonprofit supporting families of individuals who are DeafBlind, NFADB empowers family voices and advocates for the unique needs of people who are DeafBlind throughout their lives.
What We’re Working Toward
We are seeking board members who are committed to helping NFADB:

Be recognized as a national resource supporting families across the lifespan

Advocate for and with families at the national level

Build a sustainable future through strong governance and financial stewardship
Who Should Apply
We welcome applications and nominations from:
- Family members of individuals who are DeafBlind
- Professionals in the field
- Community members who share our mission and are committed to collaborative leadership
- Board members must be current NFADB members and reside in the United States or its territories, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Wake Island, Midway Atoll, Kingman Reef, Johnston Atoll, or the Northern Mariana Islands.
Board Member Responsibilities
Board members are expected to:

Attend and actively participate in board meetings

Serve on committees and workgroups

Support fundraising and resource development efforts

Strengthen and expand NFADB’s Affiliate Network

Represent NFADB and build collaborative partnerships with other organizations
Board appointments will be made in August 2026, with terms beginning October 1, 2026.
